Local Rock's "B-Side" of the Convention Calendar

I trust LVM will forgive me if I piggyback on his work to note some smaller but important events that may have gone without notice. And what qualifies them as 'important' is that they caught Local Rock's eye, or some part of him anyways.

  • It seems you've probably just missed your chance to have your head shrunk at the table, as the 550 attendees of the Association of Academic Psychiatrists is wrapping up their annual meeting today at Red Rock.

  • You are however just in time to make tomorrow's opening of something called the CGA Conference, where 750 people at the Rio are scheduled to meet about how to dig holes in the ground without killing people and blowing up stuff that isn't supposed to be blown up.

  • Which is good, because day after tomorrow Palms is hosting 700 for the California Homicide Investigators Association Annual Conference.

  • Also starting tomorrow is the Annual Conference of Pure Romance, Inc. due to bring 800 people to Caesars Palace for eight days of, um, whatever it may be that they might be doing there for eight days. Their website describes Pure Romance, Inc. thus:
