I'm planning my third trip to Vegas (for playing NLHE tournaments) in the first week of June. However I found out that the WSOP is taking place during that same period. I'm not interested in participating in the WSOP but how will the WSOP influence the regular non-WSOP games/tournaments in the pokerrooms at the Strip (MGM, Aria, MC, PH, Ceasar, ...)?
Will you see more good (pro) players in these rooms too? Will regular tournaments attract more people? Will the Strip casinos organise more or less tournaments due to this huge event? Or won't you notice the difference?
In other words, is it a good timing for a non-pro to come to Vegas when the WSOP is running?
Any advice will be appreciated ...

While the other hotels still maintain games during the WSOP, you might find it a bit of a thrill to play in the same room as the Main Event, and notice a familiar poker legend as you look down at your pocket AA...then, after the usual happens,(the Aces get cracked) you can rub shoulders, take a pic, or get an autograph of said familiar poker pro.

I e-mail their tournament director and was told that the schedule would come out in Mid-March. I would expect that the schedule comes out in the next week or so.
I think June is the best time to come to Vegas for poker. IF you play cash you have a lot of great games to sit in. Tilted players after getting eliminated from tournaments sitting in cash games. Smaller rooms spreading larger than normal games. These are just some of the things that are great.

PLO at Planet Hollywood. Mixed games at P-Ho, Mirage, Ti, the Quad, and Venetian. Juicy, fishy games EVERYWHERE. Rooms that never go dark. It's AWESOME.
