Arizona Charlie's Details

Arizona Charlie's Decatur has one of the few poker rooms in Las Vegas where you are allowed to light up and smoke at the tables. This is certainly not ideal for non-smokers, but does mean that cigarette lovers don’t have to leave the action. A polite notice on the wall informs players that cigars and smoking pipes are not allowed.

Arizona Charlie's has a small poker area tucked away to the side of the craps pit. The room’s handful of tables usually spread no-limit hold’em and limit hold’em, with stakes rising to $4-$8 on occasions. Buy-in restrictions are very relaxed, and players are able to come to the tables with as few as 10 big blinds in everything but the $1-$2 no-limit hold’em game. Other promotions include the progressive jackpots, which give payouts for straight flushes and royal flushes. Quads are always rewarded with a straight $100 in cash. Players accumulate comps at a rate of $3 for every 2 hours spent in the poker room. No tableside food service is available, but these earnings can be saved for visits to the food outlets in Arizona Charlie's.

Aesthetically, the Arizona Charlie's poker room has bright green felts on the poker tables, which are the most striking features of an otherwise plain room. The room has several high screens showing sports channels. At the entrance to the poker section, a chalkboard displays the current promotions and upcoming poker events. At the back of the room, a jukebox adds ambiance by playing tracks from the last 75 years of popular music. For newcomers, basic poker tutorials are available from staff on request.
