El Cortez Details

El Cortez Las Vegas offers a small selection of poker tables to regulars and passing tourists. Limit hold’em and spread-limit seven-card stud cash games are the main order of the day here, with stakes between $1-$4 and $3-$6 often played here

.

El Cortez poker room is a throwback to the old days of casual poker. With games taking place in relatively low light, the glare of the information screens and television monitors are the main light source. With dark-paneled wooden walls and floral carpeting dominating the room, the eye is drawn toward the bright green felted poker tables. These tables are surrounded by burgundy bar chairs, which fit well with the old-fashioned décor already described.

A full range of amenities and services are available to players at El Cortez. The strictly non-smoking poker room is within a short walk of the customer bathrooms and chips cage, so you never have to journey too far from the action. Cocktail service and tableside food service are both given to poker players to encourage long stays, with service personnel visiting the room once every 20 minutes with a tray of drinks. Players earn comps at the base rate of $1 per hour. These can be swapped for meals and the usual array of service within the cafes at El Cortez, including The Flame.

In terms of at-table promotions, El Cortez players are able to access progressive high-hand jackpots. Other promos are available on request with posters around the poker room explaining the weekly and monthly offerings. Poker rake is capped at $2.50 per hand, even in the higher-limit games. Given the limit cash games offered in El Cortez’s Poker Room, there are no tournaments available. If this changes, Poker Atlas will be the first site to report the new developments.
