Jokers Wild Casino Details

Henderson, Las Vegas is home to Jokers Wild Casino. Until mid-2012, this venue offered a small poker room that ran regular tournaments and cash games. The poker room closed due a management decision to use the poker room’s space for other gambling games.

The Jokers Wild poker room was marketed towards low-stakes poker players, recreational players, and bankroll builders. This venue was one of a small number in Las Vegas to spread $0.50-$1 no limit hold’em cash games. Slightly bigger no-limit games also ran with regularity, alongside a steady limit-hold’em table. Daily tournaments also ran for the no-limit crowd and gave complete command to players in allowing bubble deals and adjustments to the prize structures.

The Jokers Wild poker room was separated from the rest of the casino floor by a half-height black wall, with swinging door access from the main pit. Apart from the usual sounds of slot machines in the distance, poker play was generally unfettered by noise and light pollution. The walls were painted in a shade of deep peach and drew the eye to the back wall’s high-hand whiteboard. Player chairs were comparable to office furniture, but nonetheless acceptable with swivel-backs and ample padding.

As already alluded to, one of the most clearly promoted draws to Jokers Wild poker room was its high-hand jackpot. This paid out cash to the first player to win with a selected hand during cash games. Although no poker comp scheme was offered here, players could still pay for tableside food service and cocktails with either cash or chips from their stack. Players who clocked-up enough play during a calendar month were eligible for cash rewards. Tracking of this promotion was done manually by clipboard-wielding poker room managers.
