Though growing accustomed to daily tournaments with rapid blind structures that turn into shove-fest shoot outs after about an hour, I'll have to say I was pleasantly surprised by what Stratosphere had to offer. You earn an extra thousand dollar chip just for signing up early, and if you did the optional add-on, this would give you a starting stack of 200x at 20 minute levels. Tons of play and room to maneuver, with a first place prize of over $900 with about 5 tables signing up.
On the cash game side of things, it was your usual mix of decent grinders and drunken amateurs. The atmosphere is very casual and I would say both the grinders and the amateurs are worse than you will encounter on average in trendier places on the strip. If you show up with a decent bankroll and are patient, you should be able to turn a tidy profit from this place by capitalizing some stupendously bad play at times.
