Small Room, Small Play

The Thousand Islands Casino room is very much a locals casino - there is not a lot to draw poker players here from far away. The poker room has only four tables and runs mostly $1/$2 no limit. You seldom see more than two tables in action, you often have to wait a bit to get a seat. Rake isn't bad, $5 max. Being government owned and operated means that TIC has some unusual quirks, like you can't really go all in, the maximum allowable bet is $100.

I am strictly a tournament player - but the TIC has only one good tourney a week, a $120 buy in on Tuesday mornings at 11:00am. With only four tables you need to be there at 10:00am to be sure to get in - this tournament usually sells out. TIC runs a couple of other tourneys a week, but they are not as popular or as profitable.

On the positive side the staff and dealers are mostly friendly and competent. I would recommend you stop in if you are passing by, but don't make it a destination.
