I guess I'm immune to tilting

I learned something about myself today.
Spin back to 7 am this morning, I was totally pumped to enter event 53 Ladies $1000. buy in. I had a backer for the entry fee with an agreement of 25% to him on any profit. Awesome, only that the 7 am phone call was him backing out. The news threw me into confusion and then, what do I do now, mode. It was too late to find anyone else hours before, so I just tried to let it go. All day I went about my other errands. I didn't go down to the Rio. I checked online to see more and who was leading etc. It was definately on my mind all day, but I was amazingly calm which made me feel so powerful and in control. I don't tilt under pressure. This was pressure. Having a chance at that event would have been life changing for me right now.
So, after regaming my mind and doctoring my budget, I decided I could get into the 777 event. and that's what I am doing.
I could have easily slipped into defeat and thought that my backer didn't have enough faith in my play but I didn't ever think that way. All I thought was he missed out on an unbelievable return on his $1000. I learned later today it was his girlfriend who talked him out of investing in me. ~no comment on what I thought of that~
So the takeaway on all this. If you get a backer, write up an agreement and GET THE buy in cash asap. especially for bigger tourneys like this one was.
