  1. Love treasure island poker!! It is smaller and less formal than most. Great place for newbies, they are helpful and tolerant. Usually one cash table going. Tournaments scheduled four or five times a day ( about 75$ buyin). Daytime tourneys tend to be quite small - about 15 peeps max. 7:00 and 10:00 pm games have 20-40 peeps. 10:00 has a $1000 guarantee. Dealers will actually talk and joke with you! Drink service usually comes around every 20 minutes.

  2. If you want bigger games, the Mirage is connected by indoor tram. ( actually, Mirage poker is comparable to TI poker), but Venetian poker is MUCH bigger (times two or three in buyin and attendance) and is just a skybridge away, literally feet from TI front door.

  3. @Smeagol8 thanks for reply. Not a massive poker player although seem to hold my own against players i dont know so was wanting a kind of semi serious game but with a bit of banter to.. thinking of playin cash as im then not tied into playing until im beat..

  4. @retep1892 Don't dismiss the tournaments out of hand; there is always the alternative of playing until you win!!

  5. @TuffB so do you mean to not get drawn into player a tourny and go for a cash game instead?

  6. @Cypress Hunter thanks for reply. Limiting myself to 1 game when im there so think imma stick to TI.

  7. @retep1892 the game at TI is filled with a bunch of promo grinding nits. walk across the street to play at Encore (wynn poker), this IS the nicest poker room in town, and the best low limit NL action.

  8. @zzyzx thanks for the advice. Will have to have a serious think about it as dont wana be playing all night as the wife will have to find sumit to do lol.

  9. like i said earlier, the new "wynn" poker room now located at Encore is the nicest poker room in vegas, much nicer than aria---a lot more spacious, better lighting, better daily tournament, and just better run period. the buy-in limits are higher also, 1-3nl has cap of 500 vs 300 for aria so the game plays much deeper.
rake is the same for both, comps a little less at wynn, but the tableside service at wynn is superior. also there is a restroom located within the poker room as well as a sports betting
    window at wynn.

  10. @zzyzx you boys are making it difficult for me now lololol i just wanted a nice friendly game of cards

  11. @retep1892 poker is a little slow in may. Wynn - encore poker room is probably your best bet. Your wife can hop over to the fashion mall right across the street.
