Antes

Heading to Vegas for a week 5/13-20/2015, I'm strictly a NLH Tournament player! I love Vegas because I have a pick of the exact type of game I like. I know when I post my question, many will say if you are a true player you can play any way and any type! This is true but this is MY preference. Okay: Is there a website/app or anything that tells you if the Tourney is going to have ANTES? I hate antes so, I would prefer to avoid them all together. If there is not an established site can you folks that have been recently or play often tell me the casinos in the Vegas area that don't have ANTES as part of their Tourney Structure for $20-$500 buy-in games? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  1. I would start off by looking at the daily slate of tourneys listed here at PokerAtlas. From there you can click on the tourney and view the tourney info which will include the structure of the tourney. Included in the structure you will don whether the tourney has antes or not. Most of the NL tourneys today that are $100 buy in or bigger have antes today. Also, pot limit hold em is vey similar to NL and Pot Limit never has antes. There are several pot limit hold em events this summer in Las Vegas. Good luck in your search.

  2. Almost all tournaments have antes in the later stages.

  3. If I remember right, a lot of the small daily tourneys like at Mandalay, Monte Carlo, and Luxor used to not have antes. But it's been 8+ years since I've played any of those so they may have changed.

  4. Few months ago I played the dailys at Harrahs. No antes there.

  5. treasure island has ante free tourneys. for sure the 9 or 10 p daily one. not sure exactly what time its at but one of those. on the cheaper side of buy ins, i bleieve anywhere from 40-80 $ good luck!
