Why are all the cash game lists so long? We come to Vegas at this time every year and have never seen it like this.

  1. The lists are always long during the World Series of Poker. It does seem busier this year but I remember not even bothering with certain rooms last year because the lists were so long.

  2. Well I took another look at Bravo after I wrote that and the town was much busier than I've ever seen! Even Luxor, Excalibur and Monte Carlo had the longest lists I've ever seen. I falsely assumed that I could at least get into those rooms very quickly. I didn't even bother going to the Strip.

Last year was very busy but still nowhere near this busy.

  3. It's because of the Colossus. This new WSOP event has attracted players that would never come out for the WSOP typically. The normal cash games typically available at the Rio are not running because if this event also, causingall those players to flood smaller rooms.

  4. So poker is dying?

  5. Yeah, the Colossus really made for long lists this weekend -- they had over 22,000 entrants in 4 flights. So, a lot of poker players in town. Probably be more "normal" for during the series from now on.

  6. Lists have been crazy long, but I havenĀ“t waited more then one and a half hour for a seat in 1/2 or 2/5 NL texas holdem. And I have played like 15 hous per day since Thursday.

Everybody is talking about Colossus, dealers are working long hours and even Ballys has had games like 5/10 NL and 1/2 PLO going on.
