Does anyone know what the avg length and payout of the daily ones are? I swore this info was on here but I can't seem to locate it ... Thanks

  1. I think there used to be estimates on the old AVP site, but there aren't on the tourney pages here.

The daily tournies at Luxor don't have a guarantee. I walked by one on a weekday night a few weeks back that only had 7 entrants and was already down to 3 handed about 90 minutes in. Based just on that, I'd say the payouts will be small (10 players would be about $200 for first) and that the tourney won't last much over 2 hours on most nights.

  2. @Dap Poker ok got it ... Are their cash games that light also? Am staying there next week (did not have choice)

  3. Was at Excalibur last weekend. Walked over to eat comped meals at Stage Deli inside Luxor three times. On Friday night (early - maybe 5:00 or 6:00 PM), there wasn't even a single game going. Other two times, there were games going. I agree with Dap here. Tournaments will be two tables at very most. I think I did see two cash games going here on Sunday night (during the football promo). A few locals at the Excalibur talked about how the locals got mad when the Luxor went from $1/$2 no limit cash games to $1/$3 no limit cash games. According to this story, the games at the Luxor are solid because they contain less locals (who still haven't forgiven this transgression). But the games appear to be struggling a bit to happen. The games at the Excalibur ranged across the board (some tougher tables, but came across quite a few weaker players too and played at a few very good tables). I think tourneys at Excalibur were more in the 2-3 table range (didn't play, but from loosely paying attention to everything going on in the room). There was an interesting flush promotion going on for cash games at Excalibur, but only Tuesday through Thursday. Overall, I'd recommend the Excalibur as a place to play. You don't even have to go outside to get there from the Luxor (there is a walkway between the two casinos).

  4. @allin67 ok great how about MB? I know I can go to MGM but that has a lot of locals playing in their cash games

  5. I did not play at Mandalay Bay on this trip (and have not played in there for a number of years) so not really able to comment much. As someone who looks at Bravo Poker Live with a bit or regularity, it seems like that room has two cash game tables running most nights. I have no idea how they do with tournaments or how hard the cash game are.

  6. @allin67 Ok got it - thanks for the updates...sounds like I may have to travel down the strip for some good action.

  7. @Jack4Off - you mentioned "a lot of locals" at MGM; but about a year ago MGM changed their freeroll and they have tweaked it a couple times since. The initial change got rid of the huge advantage that local grinders got for playing more than 30 or 45 hours and it caused a number of them to look at other rooms. I've been playing Caesar's properties more trying to get to diamond and I've seen a number of the old MGM grinders at those properties. So, MGM not be quite as heavily populated by locals as you remember, although like any room in Vegas there are likely going to be a few locals there.
