hello everyone. someone knows which are the other 4?ty

Comments

  1. Caesars, Aria, Bellagio, Wynn

  2. Ty zzyzx..so just to be clear, the weekly freeroll like mgm and all high hands bonus in every other casino is money take from the pot?and if yes how much?ty a lot

  3. either $1 or $2 is taken from each pot to pay for so-called "promotions" in vegas. should we
really be calling them promotions when the players are funding them?

also, most of the freerolls are structured with low starting chip amounts with the option of adding additional chips for an additional fee usually disguised as a staff appreciation fee.
    hardly "free".

the best poker "promotion" in vegas is the one where you get to keep the most money you win from a pot. choose wisely and play in one of the 5 rooms that doesn't run "promotional" gimmicks.

  4. Of course you have to pay for the promotions. The casinos don't care that much about poker players and they don't make much off the poker rooms compared to some of the other stuff they profit off of. They certainly aren't going to give away things like bad beat jackpots to the poker players out of the kindness of their hearts.

Usually it's $1 taken out of the pot. In some places it's more than that (usually $2). There are a lot of bad players who either don't notice or don't care.

I don't think it's as bad as the $5 rake at some places though. Rake never goes back to the players. At least with jackpots you might get something back if you hit a high hand or something like that.

  5. @Steve007 ty steve.u know which casinso have the rake cap to 4$?ty

  6. the rooms without jackpot drops are also the rooms with the lowest rake.
venetian is running a REAL promotion (May1-24) where max rake is only $2 on all
    games 24hrs/day.

  7. @Redjack sorry it took so long to respond. The Caesars properties have the highest rake at $5 (places like Planet Hollywood, Bally's and Flamingo). However Caesars Palace lowered the rake to $4 just like the other places around the Strip, and so did Harrah's.

All the MGM properties, the Venetian, and the Wynn have rake that's no higher than $4. The locals casinos that I know of also have $4 max rake (but they do take jackpot drops).

  8. @Steve007 Ty steve, but so MGM take 4$ max but how much it take for the freeroll and the high hands jackpot?1 dollar each?so it become 6$ in a pot or less?ty very much..and in general the places that have both freeroll and high hands do they take 2$(1 for each promotionS?)plus the rake.ty guys.much appreciated..great promotion at Venetian

  9. @Redjack the MGM takes $5 max (so the jackpot drop is $1, not $2). Most places with a jackpot drop take $1.

  10. @robvegaspoker I played in the room last night and you're right. Wow, I didn't even realize that. I'm assuming this is to pay for the freeroll, unless they have any plans for other promotions. I've gotten to like the room during the past few months since I started playing in it again, but I have no plans to play in the freeroll so this is something I'm not happy about.

  11. MGM should have adequate funds at only $1 per pot to pay for it's current gimmicks.
By my quick calculations, they are redistributing $25k per week, which works out to
$148/hour they need to drop on average to cover.

so yes, you should be concerned where the other $1 is going, since all jackpot money collected
is "supposed" to be returned to the players, it is their money.

if you are a tourist who only plays a few hours a day of poker, then you are contributing to
a lottery with little to no chance of winning. think about it, there are only 67 people who
get to share all that money which is being taken off the table, and you are at the mercy
of how mgmt wants to redistribute that pool.

maybe they should just close the MGM poker room and turn it into a keno lounge.
