Hello everyone, I decided I had to post about my experience playing a local No-Limit cash game today. It was my first time playing in a casino, and I have to say things worked out pretty well!

I'm 26, and drove out to Cripple Creek, CO to dabble around for a while. I normally play craps, but the table was full, as they only open half of it. So i decided to get my feet wet, and try out some live poker. I host home games all the time, so I was excited to try it out.

It was a $1-$20 NL game, blinds were $1/$2. I started with $45 dollars, which was definitely the short stack. But hey, I'm a low roller! I ended up folding pretty much every hand i was dealt, besides chopping a small pot with a pair of 8s.

Then the Big One. I'm dealt Ks Qs, Little blind raises to $5, and I call. Heads up to the flop. Flop is 6x 10s Js. Little blind checks, I check as well.

The turn is an Ace. Little blind bets $20. Hmmm....I started the hand with about $37, I call, with almost nothing behind it.

River: Ace of Spades. Royal flush my friends. Little blind then bets another $20, and I insta-call, fumbling my chips into the middle of the table. It is my first time, after all.

Little blind shows AxJx, for a full house. Then I show the table my Royal Flush. The dealer: WOW! Royal!

The room royal flush jackpot was $278, plus my $85-$90 pot. I was in shock, I really couldn't believe it. But I do think that it's safe to say that I'm hooked for life.

I just had to tell that story! Please let me know your thoughts, as I feel like that was a once in a lifetime thing. Too bad it wasn't in Vegas for a lot more cash! I will be there next month. Look out Sin City!
