Review of Scarlet Pearl poker room

The Scarlet Pearl is the newest casino and poker room in the Biloxi area. It opened around January and has 10 poker tables. The staff are very friendly and liberal with the comps which accrue at $2.50 an hour. The best part is that you can use whatever amount is on your comp for basically anything in the casino including food to ANY of their restaurants including the fine dining steakhouse, souvenirs, hotel rooms (very nice rooms, esp the corner ones with floor to ceiling windows), etc. Also, they have poker room rates of $69/nt Sun/Thur and $99/nt Fri/Sat. Finally, a casino that lets you use YOUR money anyway YOU want unlike surrounding casinos such as Beau Rivage. That casino was the one we played at every week for years prior to the Scarlet opening up. However, their General Manager has recently changed from what I hear and he is not a fan of the poker room. As a result, they had to change their comp policy and have become much stricter with issuing them out even to regular players. You now only accrue appx $1/hr so you can't get a full comp even if you play 8-10 hrs plus they wont give you what you have accrued if under $15 as that is their minimum which is ridiculous! Therefore, I could play 8 straight hours and not be eligible for a comp for dinner. That crap only drives your players away so I dont understand it. Back to the Scarlet, they have a lot more promotions every day including Hot Seat (the computer randomly draws a player every 30 mins for $25), Trips on the flop (if dealer flops any trips, the next 3 hands have $75 added to it), etc. The only problem with the room is that there are usually only a few tables going and they tend to break up early unlike the Beau which is the largest and most popular room on the MS coast. Some of it is the time of the yr which will pick up closer to Summer. Hopefully, they can keep the room going!
