A wave of optimism has hit DC and Baltimore poker players, sparked by 2013’s grand opening of the Maryland Live! poker room. The stakes are unlimited at this 50-table venue, as poker room management are willing to spread anything if demand arises. Horseshoe Baltimore's 23-table room opened in the summer of 2014 and provided more poker options, while MGM National Harbor has been a hit with area players since its December 2016 grand unveiling. Its room has 46 tables, including a high-limit area with 8 tables and 2 more in a semi-private poker salon. Hollywood Casino in Perryville also serves DC and Baltimore players with dependable tournament and cash-game action. Online poker is not legal in Washington DC or Maryland, but who knows? Anything could develop with such a thriving poker industry in the state.
