Arrive from Pittsburgh on 5/15 to 99 degree weather in Vegas.

Most of Monday consisted of hitting up the Excalibur pool with my GF and enjoy margaritas and in the bright sun.

Monday night we walked the strip and checked out the Bellagio Light show.

5/16 - I awoke anxiously at around 6AM due to the time difference from the east coast.

Walked down to the Excalibur and bought 100$ into my first casino cash game 1-2.

Playing with about 7 guys I couldnt catch anything.

I folded away at least 4 big blinds.

I was down to about 80$ when I catch pocket 4's.

At this point we are playing 5 handed.

I raise to 8$ , call , call , fold,

Flop comes down and I make a set of 4's.

I bet 20$ , call , fold.

Turn pairs the board and I make a full house.

I go all in and other dude calls, river does not help him and I go up 88$ to 168 total.

VERY NEXT Hand pocket 4's.

Flop gives me a set, and once again the board pairs and I make a full house!!

This time for a little less profit around 65$.

I leave the table soon after around 7:40am up about 160$.

I toss 10$ into video poker and loose.

I play the morning tournament and make it about half way through the field of 60.

Hit the ghost bar up that night and play no more poker for the day.

5/16- Wake up and stroll over to the Luxor across the street.

Grind my 50$ buy in up to around 85$ after an hour and a half of playing pretty solid.

Feel pretty good to be up 30-40$ and say to my self , ok just one more hand.

I catch 9-10 os , flop comes 6-7-8 for a flopped straight.

I raise it 10 or so and a guy on my left goes all in for 50 bucks or so.

I call , he turns over a pocket 8's or a set and immediatley says "I have some outs" ...well he sure did , catches a 6 for a full house and I immeidatley pick up my 20 or so and leave pretty bummed out.

Relax at the pool for the remainder of the afternoon and check out the USA today to read up on the NBA playoffs. I walk into the sports book and see something VERY ODD.

Game Six in the NBA playoffs ( CAVS vs. Pistons) and the money line is through the sky on the CAVS.

+800... now I dont bet on sports that often , but I say what the heck , they have Lebron, they are a legitimate NBA team , lets throw a 5$ to win 40$.

I run into a guy that I played with the morning before and we discuss the good odds. I suggest he throw some money on the game. He and his buddies all bet the money line CAVS.

He and I meet up later and play 1-2 while the game is on.

At Half time the CAVS are up 5 or so and I chat it up with some guys at the table how I took the
Cavs ML and I wish I could have thrown more down.

They suggest I go over and check the halftime line.

I head over and see that the CAVS are getting 9 points!!!

Wow I throw whatever was left in my wallet on the cavs, not much like 25 or something.

My session is not going well I am down 40 or so , not catching much and playing 9 handed.

I decide to call it quits and enjoy the rest of the CAVS game at the sportsbook.

I run into my poker buddy who took the CAVS, we have a couple frozen margaritas and watch as the CAVS win.

Wow what I great feeling to take the underdog and hit it!

Feeling pumped gf and I head back up to the room and meet up with friends to play some drinking games and head out for our last night.

We walked all the way through the maze at the MGM while passing the Lion on our way to the Monorail.

Take the monorail to the Harahs where we stuff our faces with CrabLegs and other items.

Bloatted , buzzed and woreout from the sun , we all head back and call it a night.... except for me.

I head over to the Luxor for one more session before I have to leave for Pittsburgh in the morning.

Its about 1:30 when I arrive.

I loose a couple hands to check raises and better kickers , I am down to about 20$ of my initial 100$ buy in.

I catch a miracle Queen on the river to double up and get me going.

Oh and get me going it did.

Next thing I know I call an all in pre flop of 25 or so with my stack of 100$.

I hold King Jack of Diamonds.

Flop makes me a nut FLUSH.

ad - 8d - 10d , so i figure , nice I just won the pot I really dont need to look at the turn and river.

But the turn brings a QUEEN of DIAMONDS for my royal flush.

I dont realize this until the show down, and the dealer says hey Royal Flush.

Luxor poker manager brings over a 100$ in chips and makes me sign a box. Dealer counts cards and its official.

Only the second time I have ever seen one.

I tip the dealer 11$ and feel unstopable.

I play another hour till about 3:15 AM sipping on ice coffee and OJ.

I loose a couple pots and think its time to call it a night , up about 200$.

Wow , thats about it , all in all a GREAT time , and a GREAT experience!!
