3 days, 6 rooms and 30 hours of poker!
got in sun 2am and crashed. headed to stardust 11am sun...missed the tourney, but played 2/4 for about 4 hours before losing my $40 buy-in. summary: ok dealers, slow waitresses, whiney crowd (i hate playing with people that can't afford to lose their money!). over to rio later that night, but WSOP was over for the day. lost some $$ at blackjack and went next door to goldcoast...where i played 2/4 from 8p-6a. came home about $150 up (after breakfast). summary: great dealers and floor staff. fresh donuts at 5am! comps are $1.5 1st 4 hours, $.50 after that.
crashed until 5p mon, ate and headed over to sahara to sign in for the 11p tourney. went over to stratosphere and played 2/4 for 3 hours...missing the tourney! but made about $150. summary, more whiney folks here, but good dealers and waitresses. room is kinda small, i felt like the tables were too close together. got in on another 2/4 at alladin after that. busted in about an hour. didn't really like the atmosphere here and drinks were slow to come. ended up playing blackjack and walking home.
checked out of the hotel (hilton) at 2 and dropped luggage off at mandalay bay and signed in for the 6p tourney. headed over to excalibur for a little practice. this is one of my favorite (softest!) rooms! made out with $100 playin' 1/3 for 2 hours. touney at mandalay bay was ok, no limit isn't really my game though. went out 14th out of 30. went all in with pocket aces and lost to trip Js! great drink service here and starbucks cofee. back to excalibur to play 1/3 from 8p-5a (after realized at 11p i wasn't going to make my 11:40 flight, i sat back down for a few). this really is a great room. there was a buffet with really good chinese food. yum! other comps are $4 off food after 4 hours. drinks were coming faster than i could drink and the dealers are the best (thanks rocco, butch and rae ann!)
best moment of the trip: taking a $75 pot on 1/3 from one of the drunk irish guys at excalibur. i had Qh, 8s. flop is 4h, 10h, 8h. i bet 3 with a few callers. turn is Kh! i know i'm good for a high flush and bet, folds go around, ireland raises, i re-raise...we cap. same for the next card (2d). at this point, i'm a bit scared...thinkin' he may have the Ah. anyway, when we show, he had a pair of 10s! what??? even the dealer was dumbfounded.
