The Wife had to go to vegas for work and as usual(once a year) I tag along to play poker while she works during day. Very excited when she says we're staying at ceasars since they have new poker room and have read about their great tourney structers for their 12pm daily.

we don't get there till late monday night and after long travel day we have dinner and go to bed. Tues. am i go down to poker room at 9 and find out since the WSOP-c event is going on, their normal schedule has been scrapped. They have day 2 of $10,000 main event as well as $1,000 10am MTT. A little above my level of play so I decide to head over to T.I. for 11am $60 MTT.

At 10;15 poker room is pretty sparse with 1/3 NL table 6 handed. i decide to sit in till tourney starts and buy in for $200. @ players had about $500-$600 each and the rest between $100 and $200. I post and then don't play 3 hands in a row. I'm quite amused buy young asian girl who is obviosly drunk and playing every hand and calling down virtually any bets. this reckless play actuall won here 2 pots in a row with total rags. then UTG I get 2 black bulletts and limp in and get no raises all limpers. Flop comes 3 bricks and i bet $10 and get 3 callers. Turn Jd and i bet $25 asian girl goes all in for $64 everyone folds and I call. she flips over 3-7 offsuit for 1 pair of 3s and gets no help for a nice pot for me. She then rebuys $100 and asks the cocktail waitress for a coffee and another corona.

Next hand i get 2-2 and call a $10 raise as does 3 others(yes drunk asian girl too) I flop trips and check raise $25 others fold except for you know who. turn is other 2 for quads and i bet$25 she calls again. River ace and she says all in out of turn and I say ok, she turns over J-3 for a made pair of 3s and everyone laughs before i even show my quads and she leaves after that and 3 others leave too. I don't want to play 3 handed so I decide to cash out plus $193.00 for two hands in about ten minutes. Nobody seems to be showing up for tourney yet as its 10:45 so I head to Harrahs for their 11am $50 buy in. 6 tables for close to sixty entrants. Lasted only 2 hours as i was card dead mostly and hovered around 2500 in chips which was below average after first break.

One hand I lost a race w/10-10 against AK when button reraised all in for 650 more after my 600 bet. he seemed like he was desperate so I called and was looking good until river spiked him his K. Eventually went all in desperatly w/K9 suited and lost to 10-7 same suit. oh well.

It was too late to make Alladdin 1:00pm so i walked to MGM(a lot further than it looks) to check it out. It was pretty funny seeing all young wanna be types with shaes and tracksuits so I got on1-2 NL list and was seated in about 10 minutes. I only played for about 25 minutes in which I was plus$141.00 after a flush, tripKs, and tripJs.

I then decided I could make it back to harrahs for their 3pm $100 buy in tourney since I thought of it as free entry with my winnings. Big mistake as i run there and am last one signed up at about 3:02 only to find out Im the 20th entrant for basicallty a 20 man sng. i go out in 13th but playing too loose and generally just poor play.

Undaunted I head back to CP and place a few sports bets and check back the poker room. I'm made to wait 45 minutes for a 1-2NL table. Buy in for $200 and realise thisis tougher competition than anywhere else I've played.

Mostly locals looking to bust tourists(like me I guess). For about an hour I'm more than holding my own by making strong reads and appropriate laydowns. i even pull off a nice bluff against 2 others with J high because they seemed scared with clubs on board. So I was up about $125 and was going to leave in about 20 min because my wife was done working for day. I pick up QQ in late position. UTG makes it $12 and i want to see where im at so I make it$30, he calls. He bets out$15 after flop of Jd10d7c,I raise him $40 more and he instantly said all in.WOW I can tell he's a good player but just can't figure this out yet. Is he on a flush/stright draw? I do have 1 diamond. I tell myself all i can really beat is aj or kj or less likely a bluff. I'm in the tank for a good 3min. and I can see others being aggravated by this. I can't even beat J-10. Of course ignoring 98% of my instincts I call and he has top set and im dead to runner runner or a Q. when that doesn't come I'm out of chips and leave table. that man shook my hand and said tough beat.

I was very disappointed in my play and don't think it was a tough beat at all, just bad play. I totally read situation right but just didn't have discipline to follow through. pain full and costly learning experience. Man did i get drunk that night. Me and the wife went to Mesa Grill for dinner and then staggered into PURE. Were told since we are staying at CP we need to show room keys and don't have to pay cover or wait in line. Naturally very expensive drinks but we had a blast and thought i was gonna get killed when we were leaving and I yelled out hey look its Nikki Sixx and it was actually CC Deville and a member of his posse thought i was trying to be funny. I was just drunk and stupid but it was funny after all.

next day I go back to T.I. at about 10:15 to check things out and play in 11am trny. Poker room is empty except for dealers and staff. They tell me there will be between 20-30 players so I decide to play BJ till then. Win $170 in about 20 min and then head over to Poker room at 11:03 and trny already started and am disappointed to find only 13 plyrs(2 dealrs who changed to play). 4 people rebuy and I actually chop it for $300 each when it gets heads up. Stacks were even and blinds were 1000-2000, total crapshoot at that point. only had a 2-4 game going so i decided to leave after that and went to ceck out Venetian poker room.

Wow what nice room. Again i saw some local rocks looking to poach off tourists. I waited 1 hour to get seat in 1-2NL table and played very well for about 2 hrs and was up about $380 after playing nothing but good hands. Got a little loose for about next 45 mins and cashed out only up $171. Afterchsing too many draws and not hitting.

Next day was last day and wife didn't have to work so we had a bout 10 hrs to kill before flight home. Wife does not gamble so she didn't really want to watch me do it all day. She did agree to "let" me play poker for a couple of hours so I headed back to Venetian and sat right away at same 1-2NL table. 4 people were there from day before in same seats but different clothes. Again I buy in for max $200 and am quickly bluffed out of a pot buy older woman who gave too much credit too. Very next hand I raise $12 UTG w/JJ and get 4 callers. flop comes J10K rainbow and i bet my trips $20(just like guy at CP did too me) older woman raises $50 more and I casually say "i guess im all in" she beats me into pot and i say "oh i guess u have AQ" and she says no just K9 and so more than double up already. I play for about 2 More hours and win a bunch of small pots and 1 more big one and cashout plus $340.

I talked to a guy as we were leaving that said he was at my table and he said he and 2 others stayed away from me because they thought i was only playing premium hands and so I didn't get as much action as i maybe should have. Don't know if that was a backhanded compliment or not, but i do feel I improved my play from previous cash game experiences.

Also I won 6/7 sports bets and stayed mostly away from BJ and craps that have ruined my trips in past. Sorry so Long.
