Arrived at around 11pm and headed over to the Imperial Palace where we were staying. Nothing much has changed there since they've opened, I'm sure of it. Hotel room was ok, casino is pretty cheesy. Anyways, we check in and have a few drinks in the room and then head over to the Planet Hollywoods 2am tourney. All seven of us enter with a props bet that the last man standing gets $10 from each person. I end up chopping 4 ways after the 3rd break. There was 2 other guys and 1 girl left, the girl had a sizeable chip lead but got that lead on pure luck. I suggest the chop, the 2 guys readily agree but the boyfriend of the girl hesitates, I tell him we will give her an extra $200 and they agree. Walk out of there w/ $650 plus $60 from the props bet, suuuuhhhhweeeeeeet!
Next day I play for a couple of hours at the IP and double up my $200 buy - in. The poker room there is not good, however the players were not so good either. We head over to the MGM for a night session and all of us do pretty well except for one of my buddies, he thought it was going to be easy pickings and that he would be able to easily pick off the fish. Turns out he was the only fish! Anyways, the MGM room is by far my favourite and has been profitable for me almost everytime I play there.
Saturday morning I head over to the Caesars 1200 tourney, after partying all night at the MGM and then only getting a few hours sleep, going into this tourney was a bad idea. The structure for this tourney is the best in town, 40 min blinds and $4500 in starting chips. However, there were over 247 people entered! I was bounced after the 1st break and then slinked back across the street to the IP where I tried to recover.
Saturday night we head to the Planet Hollywood again and put in a session there. At this point after almost 3 days of poker and drinks my heart just isn't in to it and lose my $200 buy - in on a terrible flush suckout. All in all a great trip, next time we hopefully will stay at the MGM and get their poker room rate. It has the whole package, good poker room, great pool facilities and a hopping casino. Can't wait to get back down there!! Thanx to all for their trip reports!
