1st night in Vegas we all headed over for the $65 freezeout tourney at the Aladdin, now they called it a freezeout but they allowed alternates into the tourney within the first hour. I personally didn't like that as new players were coming in with bigger stacks than others that had been there since the beginning. Having said that though my buddy and I ended up heads up with myself winning the tourney, up $877 first night!
Next day headed over to Caesars for their $80 buy - in and $50 re-buy, the blinds went up every 40 min so you could really play some poker. Caesars new poker room is the nicest one I've been in in all of Vegas. The competition was a mix of tourists and locals, also Camp Hellmuth was going on there in the afternoon so I saw Phil, Phil Gordon, T.J. Cloutier, Cindy Violette, Antonio Estafaria and Scott Fischman. Went out in middle of pack and only one of my friends finished in money.
That night headed to Excalibur for some easy money at the 1-2 NL table, the competition was pretty weak with drunken punks and tourists for the most part. Lost my biggest pot to my buddy, ouch! Overall the competition was pretty weak there, the room was terrible so it depends what you want.
3rd day there we went back to Caesars and played the daily tourney again, went out early and then played a 1-2 NL game I was up about $200 early and then just kept going up and down. The competition was good to average and the cocktail service was excellent!
That night we headed over to the MGM and had a great time there, we all won playing the 1-2 NL tables despite one of my buddies playing at a table full of locals who all preyed on the tourists and drunks. Overall the MGM is a great room, the competition was good to average, the drink service was very good and I loved the ambience in there.
