My dad and I went for a week long poker trip to vegas and had a great time in very different rooms. I play Foxwoods on a regular basis and in my opinion it's still the biggest and best run poker room in the country with the best mix of limits. The Mirage is as close as you can get with the quality of the room and dealers. It's a very well run room but the players there are very good with alot of locals avoiding the Bellagio rush. We also played the new MGM room, Binions, Alladin and the Palms. Binions was our favorite, the dealers were very good and although not as profesional as at MGM and the Mirage they were hillarious. I have never laughed so much at a poker table. Binoins is hit and miss on the quality of players, most of the time there were very beatable players there but at a few tables there some very good locals at the table. The Palms is a very small room but I got a tip from one of the dealers at another casino that it's a very beatable room with alot of dead money and they were right. I sat down at a 4/8 table for 2 hours and even though i couldn't catch any cards is was very obvious that even catching mediocore cards you could win big there. I can remember atleast 5 or 6 pots that were three bet on bluffs and the smallest pair on board. It took about 45 minutes to get a table there on a thursday night and even though the managment was not the most knowledgable they were very friendly. The alladin calls itself a friendly poker room and it is. they have high hand jackpots there and you dont even have to post on your first hand unless you're in the blinds. The new MGM room was very nice and well run but the mirage is still better then the MGM. I played 2/4 at MGM and had an up and down 5 hours but it was fairly comfortable and quiet. The one thing i hated about the the Alladin and MGM was the Marble at MGM and wood at the Alladin that went around the outside of the tables. Overall i would recommend all the rooms that i played at but Binions is great even though it's old school.
