I just returned from a six day girl trip to Las Vegas. We were celebrating best friends 50th.

We had just this Christmas learned to play Texas Hold'em, and I wanted to play in Vegas.
I had read here that the Excalibur was the place for newbies. Thank you so much for that info.

Excalibur was great for someone just learning. All the staff was so nice. and the players were as well. They made me feal welcome and not out of place at all. They have a 1 and 3 dollar game. The minimum buy in is 20.00 but most people bought in for a rack or two. I just did the 20.00... I am a very low stakes gambler.
But I was not made to feal less of a player because of it.

The first time there I played for almost an hour on my 20 bucks. My friend was out the second hand. I actually won a pot. So cool for me. I was in Vegas, shuffling my chips and playing Hold'em at the Excalibur !!!! Can Bellagio be far behind ??:):)

Second time, I still bought in for the 20.00 alone this time, I went to the table and it was filled with just guys... mmmm okay what the hay. I've had by-pass these guys don't scare me !?!
First two hands nothing to play, The next hand I got pocket kings :):) Seven players stay in.
the flop is 6 3 10. I stay. 3 others stay. next is a 6. I say cool. Kings and sixes ..lesson don't count your chickens. we all stay. don't remember the last card but it didn't matter... yup you guessed... it one guy had a six and 2!!!
Everyone was saying man that hurts. Too bad great hand etc. Made me feal better. At least I knew I had played it right. Except I am now down to 2 bucks.
Now to my last hand I started off so I put in the buck and got pocket sixes. around the table it goes with guys betting, it gets back to me and I have my dollar
sooooooo I get to say I'm ALL IN !! for a BUCK !!!! I was excited, I got to say the magic phrase.:):)
Ending up losing but it was alot of fun and I can't wait to go again.

Poker Tourn at Gold Coast is every day at 10:00 am
Price is 20.00. You each receive 800.00. There are 3 tables so 30 people, but they have alternates that can buy in anytime during the firat hour when someone goes out. Not sure I liked that but I lasted down to 2 tables. and I was third to go out so was number 18. Fairly respectable my first time I thought.
Thanks for letting me share my first poker experience with you.
