I arrived in Vegas early for the weekend of 7/26 with two friends from Pittsburgh.

We stayed at the Hard Rock , which has no poker room , but plenty of eye candy.

Hard Rock in my opinion was a rip off.

Anyone can use the pool for 20$ and the room did not have adequate airconditioning , a crappy remote for the large plasma (no HD) , and our room was not cleaned ONCE the entire trip = no towels

But on to poker.

After partying at Voodoo (table serviced it up) I drifted down to the room around 1:00AM , to see only two tables in play. I sat down with the rocks (mostly off duty dealers) and played drunken no foldem limit.

I left an hour later (- 9 bucks)expecting to meet back up with my friends at Voodoo , but it had closed. I ended up trapped in a utlity elevator after opening the doors to the club and having them shut and lock on me. But a kind maid helped me out as the elevator stopped on some floor.

So then I played the NL table game ( Texas Holdem Bonus) and killed it for 300$ , would have been more if I played the bonus as I hit Pocket Kings twice in five hands.

I really think that game is beatable if you look at other peoples cards, (which they basically let you do).

Anywho , I left Rio around 4am and tried to find my buddies (my cell was dead) , I tried the strip club across from HR but no luck, they were all at SCORES.

I crashed around 5 and woke up a 8 to head over to Excalibur for a cheap tourney at 9.

I played NL for an hour before the tourney but did not hit any hands.

The tournament is hilarous. The blinds are so fast and you start with 300 in chips.

After the second round you basically have one move.

I final tabled , but was knocked out in 9th (4 paid) when my KJ suited ran into QQ.

I cabbed it back to HR (10$) and decided to check out the pool scene everyone spoke of.

Wow , it really did live up to the hype. By 2pm the majority of the pool was drunk and having a great time. It was basically a night club in a pool setting.

By 5 I was ready for some food. Mr Lucky's was not bad at all , (Chx sandwich).

Afterwards I tried to sleep , but not for long, I was up by 8 down at the starbux drinking a double expresso and one of my buddies 5 hour energy - that stuff tastes like crap!

We hit JET for bottle service that night and Moon the next night.

I continued to kill the NL Texas Holdem table playing with friends showing each other our cards.

I also did well at Double Deck BJ.

Pool BJ did not go well but it was fun as hell.

Some dude at 3rd base did not even know his name.

All in all , it was a sick insane trip that I would do over in a couple years - (my liver needs to recoup).
