Best 1-5 NL on the Strip
The review of the Excalibur proved correct, with lots of folks chasing straights and flushes. I believe the percentage of novices to be higher than other rooms. A guy last night on 1-2 NL was indicative - he'd call 10, then 20, then fold when his straight or flush didn't hit. All you needed was a pair and a bet. 2 buy ins and $400 later, he was gone. We played at the Sahara also, particularly in their tourneys. They have 11A,7p,and 11p tourneys - $44 entry, 20 rebuy, 2500 and 1500 chips. The 7p and 11p's have 100 - 150 people, so good payoffs. After almost 5 hours, the final 10 decided to chop for $480 on Friday night, including my mother-in-law. Great entertainment and a chance at $1600 for a bargain price. The Hilton, where we were staying, is a smaller room with lots of locals. But I had one higher straight which clipped a local, with me AJ, him J8, and flop Q 10 9. All-in-all, for the hilton, I'd play if you were staying there, but not go out of your way otherwise.
