Although the Luxor Poker room was small, the tournaments were well run. On weekends, they have a $25 Texas Hold'em tournament at 10am and 12pm and a $55 tournament at 8:30pm. The morning tournaments are limit for an hour and NL after that and last about 2 hours. The evening tournament is NL. The competition was fairly soft, with most players appearing to be tourists and novice players. I busted one guy out on second hand of limit with trip 4's. He had stayed on a capped bet with 67os, made a pair of 6's and would not release the hand, in fact would reraise me. I placed in 5th place for $97 payout and in another tourney my boyfriend took 2cnd for $340. The morning tournies had 8 to 9 tables with 5 to 6 alternates allowed. Evening tournies were smaller with 5 to 6 tables. First place payed about $680 in am and pm tournies. I also played ring games 2/4 limit. Very loose, aggressive players. A lot of raising pre-flop with multiple callers. Although I had to wait for the right cards, I had a profitable session and was able to double my money after 4 hours of play. Overall, a comfortable, no-frills poker room.
