Flamingo was where i spent most of my time.

However I did try the $100NL buy in at the Imperial Palace. That was a mistake. I will never again play NL hold em. At my table it was all drunk maniac's raising like crazy and surprising they did have good hands. Your $100 will go fast if your not a good NL player. I fancy limit so i can still make a mistake or two and not go broke.

I had 3 sessions at the Flamingo poker room. The first session i ended up down $20 playing 2/4. Never play cards when you have people waiting for you to go have dinner. Your play will be different. always remember to play when you have alot of time. i was dissapointed that i had to leave early as i was at a loose table with about 50% players that had poor skills. (they call you all the way down with just middle or even bottom pair)

The 2nd session I made mistake two. As i stumbled back from Casino Royale I stopped at the Flamingo 2/4 table and played drunk. i didnt feel like i played very bad but i lost my buy in of $60 so enough said. I know not to play drunk but when your in vegas it is pretty hard to avoid alcohol.

The next day at the flamingo and last day of my vacation i had to win back the $60 i blew the night before by playing drunk. i settled in with plenty of time to play. I got up early and would come down a little back to my original buy and and then win a couple hands and get back up to like +40 again and had a rush towards the end of my session as i pulled in like 3 pots in about 10 mins giving me an $80 win at which point i left. The bad news was that I hit 4 aces giving me a "high hand jackpot" thing they do at the Flamingo. I was told that if my 4 aces stood up for the rest of the day i would win $500. The only problem was that i had to go to the cardroom at 1:30pm the NEXT DAY to pick up the money. They have to count the jackpot drops they take from every pot and then they distribute it the next day to all the "high hands", well you guessed it....i was leaving in about 2 hours to fly back home and no they do not mail gambling winnings to you. I did not pass go and i do not collect my $500. I yelled at the cardroom manager who i decided i do not like as he was not very cool about the whole thing. Actually I ran into alot of people who work in vegas that are absolutly crabby. Watch out for the craps dealers at the Casino Royale....Anyways alot of people do not collect on their jackpots for the same reason as me.

Overall the Flamingo is an ok place to play. Dealers are good. Drinks are good and the competition is slightly below average so it is a beatable game even at 2/4. The management at the flamingo card room is rather poor. For some reason they allow the players to play their chips right out of the rack. I guess they dont know that when these players do this it slows the game down considerably when they fumble around in the rack for 4 chips. I was going to say something to the manager but i never did. I decided that you can easily tell who the amatures are if they keep their chips in a rack while at the table. Mike Caro needs to add that one to his book!
