lots of poker, bad beats broke my spirit
got to vegas on 4/17/05. I had the whole trip planned out, even made a spread sheet of where to play and what time tourneys were starting. My first destination was MGM to play in the sit and go. I missed the turn into the hotel, ended up at TI... so much for schedules... TI was nice... played 5/10 limit.. game was filled with a bunch of idiots, mostly hotel employees, but there was this asian guy (upper management in a suit) that really irked me, he would call you down and down and down. and as soon as he sucked out he would start with these comments on how you didn't have anything and this game is so easy. I wouldn't go back. even though one of the poker room girls has breasts to die for. amazing! (was the ti poker room an old gift shop?) ended +$220 on night
next day off to the wynn, played the $330 tourney. steve danneman was playing (he busted out quick). there was a hundred players, i was down to 1200 in chips and made a roaring come back up to 16k with 22 left. i get kk, 4 all in callers, guy catches ace on river.. then qq, i get guy to move all in with jj.. flop aq3. then ten and king.... at this point my face is bright red and i am hating the game of poker... next hand a2... flop a26.. move all in... guy calls with aj.. runner runner 9. out!!!!
I head to venetian.... i gotta snap someone! play $125 sit and go... awesome... we chop 3 way. then off to mgm... its amazing that some of these dumb people play poker. sit for 6 hours pick up anout $300 in cash. go to bed thinking about 3 bad beats in tourney.. over and over.
next day play at venetian... hit a wall when trips hits a 4 to a flush and he calls all in with 3rd nut flush draw to hit on river.... i am hurting. caesars was ok... i think it sux, but it is bad because my attitude was bad.
bellagio was good, saw all the stars.
last day, i went to the mgm for some last minute action.... denise, the card room manager, was such a bitch, she said my name was on the list but i couldn't go far because you can;t hear the page in the casino. i thought i remember the website saying you get a pager for the poker room. i get back and she says that i missed being called, she then says that she has a seat playing 2/4 limit. yuck!
i head to the tropicana, i walk in to the casino, and it reminds me of when i have a hangover on the last day of any/every vegas trip. i sit down at a table swimming with fish, the other semi-pro gives me a nod when i pick up a pot with bottom pair after a big bet. i play there for about 2 hours and my hands are filthy from the disgusting table. the poker manager apologizes for the mess and I leave..
77 hours of poker, and i am down $600 including a $330 tourney, not too bad.
