We stayed downtown and I checked out the daily NL holdem at Binions. The atmosphere was fabulous, just knowing how many great players had been there. Watched from the rail for a while and noticed that most of the players were poker wannabe's. Decided to pass on that $60 tournament.

Went to Aladdins and found the Poker Room to be very nice. The staff was very friendly and the cocktail waitresses were plentiful. Decided to play a $40 buy in $20 RB. 84 players signed up. Most of the players were just that, players. Had a few loose cannons but they were out rather quickly. I made it to the final table of 10. The tourney paid out 8 places. I had an above average stack with 3 people on very short stacks. Short stackers basically got "blinded out". 5 of us left and me another gal from texas were the short stacks. I drew a K-10 Diamonds. I call the big blind. Texas drops. THe guy in front of me raises me. If I call, I'm done with the blinds so I go all in. He flips over his cards, 4s, 4c... the flop comes Ad, Js, 3d, the turn brings 4d.. I got the nut flush! Then I got rivered.... river brings 3c... he wins with full house... Nice tournament. I got paid $294 for 5 place...

Ran out time and had to come home but will definitely play more Holdem instead of the one arm bandits next time out.
