Stayed at the MGM from Dec. 16 - 19. Good weekend, but ran into a lot of real serious players; not much conversation going on.

Started with the Friday morning tournament. Very tough tournament as the blinds raise quickly. Had pocket rockets twice in the early going, but could never get anyone to call a small raise. Over 100 players including alternates and I ended up in the last two tables before having to make a decision with a small stack that took me out.

Played 3/6 that night. Lots of easy play with three or four that would continuously call with anything. Made $150 that night.

Next day, much tougher. Lots of solid and aggressive play with only one caller at the table. Ran into the caller with AK in the hole and the flop included an AK. Fourth was an A. I bet and caller, guess what, called. After last card, I bet, he raised, I raised, he then sat there for a long time. I had been playing solid cards all night and everyone at the table put me on AK. Caller finally called and flipped over the other ace for trip aces losing to my full house. Guess I cannot blame him for trying, but everyone else at the table knew that I had him. Last hand of the night, I caught an open ended straight flush draw off the flop. Two other players to the river and only had to call, so stayed in until the last card fell. Last card gave one a full house. Other caller was drawing to the ace high flush. Could have made a killing on that hand if either one of those two magic cards would have dropped. But, no dice.

Last day, played the Sunday tournament. Similar result as Friday. Then played some 2/4 and 3/6 but could not catch any cards. Long last day, but overall a fun trip. Just wish there had been a few more fun loving people there that weekend!

Just a note, some of the room managers/staff at the MGM poker room are not very friendly or helpful. But there was one lady at the registration desk who was always very courteous, friendly, and helpful. I wish I could recall her name. They should give her a raise!!
