I went to Vegas yesterday morning just to play a poker tournament at Mandalay Bay, for which I believed it to be a pretty good poker experience. I was mistaken. I thought hey, not a very high buy in of $30 for 300 chips. I thought that was really low to start out with. 3 tables of 9 so only 27, not the most either. The tournament sign says it's a NL Hold'em tournament for which I believed, but as we start the first 20 minutes is a limit hold'em. No word of this in the tournament signs. Although I got 5th and barely made my money back I thought this wasn't the best place to spent my time.

    Yeah, the tourney at the Bay is one of the worst in town, easily.

    At least you made your money back. Sorry the trip wasn't that great, but thanks for posting your experinces!

    Ok, although I've never heard of using limit for the beginning of the tournament I have a feeling someone is going to tell me that several places use that format... In any case, screw that. I know on another thread I said "$35, I'm all in", but I'd want my $30 back if I didn't cash. False advertising?
