Friday, Nov.11,2005........We arrived in Vegas at 10:05 pm and got down to Binion's after hastily getting our bags to our rooms. They run their tourneys well and have gotten a new "final table" with lights around the armrests which are really nice along with monitors with blinds and times on them. I won a tourney back in May and they didn't have either of these. Two players from our league finished 3rd ($595.00)and 6th ($350.00) respectively.($70.00 buy-in with rebuys) While rooting them on we noticed Chris Moneymaker playing on the 10-20 NL table and had a blast watching him. He was really cool and took a couple pictures with us while he was on a break. (Nice bracelet!!!)

Saturday, Nov. 12,2005........Played in the 11:00 pm torney at Sahara. The tables were old with cigarette burns and stains on them. Tourney was run o.k. and I got my first poor luck of the weekend as I went all-in with AA on a short stack with 14 people left. Two callers and another all-in later it was my AA vs. KK vs. 99.....you know what happened, a 9 came on the flop and I was sent packing, but I lasted the longest of anyone from our league and would sure have made final table if them aces woulda held up!!

Sunday, Nov.13,2005........No poker as our beloved Browns were at those damn Steelers so we all decided to head over to The Taphouse on West Charleston. The Taphouse is a Browns Backers bar and we felt right at home watching our Brownies get stomped on their multiple big screens.

Monday, Nov.14,2005........We head to the MGM Grand as it was our last day here to play in the 11:00 am tourney. ($65.00 buy-in) First off MGM just remodeled their poker room and they did an excellent job. They had new poker tables with built in card shufflers and a 6" or so marble around the armrest for stacking your chips. The felt was slightly raised so you could easily peek at your cards which can be hard for someone like me with little or no fingernails. Here is where my other poor luck came into play. We were down to 11 people left and I pick up AA. I raise and everyone folds to big blind who only had a few more thousand chips than what I had raised. He thought for a few minutes (he did a good job of acting) and goes all-in. I call instantly and he stands up and slams his cards down. I jump up and what do I see, he has the other AA!!!! You just dont see that too often especially when we were 6 handed. So we split and someone on the other table busted so me and another fellow league player make the final table. We redraw for seats and sit down and the tourney director announces break in 2 minutes. The 1st hand at the final table and I'm dealt AK. After the first to act raised double the BB I thought to myself should I just throw this away and hit break or try and steal the blinds and the raisers chips. (I had a pretty good read on him since I sat with him at the same table for almost the whole tourney and figured he was trying to steal the blinds). I figure if I act "fast and bold everyone would fold" so I move all-in almost immediately after the person to my right tossed their cards away. To my dismay the person to my left does the exact same thing and after everyone folds including the initial raiser who says he folded JJ the person on my left flips his cards showing AA!!! After losing that hand it took me down to one $500 chip and after tripling up the very next hand with AQ and seeing two other people get knocked, I get blinded out and finish 8th. The thing that really sucked was that they only pay the top 6!! Over 100 people and they only pay 6 places which I think is real lame, of course I think most would if they finished 8th too.....LOL My buddy finished in 6th and only got $250.00.

Well our league starts again in April and our trip is planned for August 2006, during WSOP. I hope you found this report entertaining, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!
