Plaza Sit-n-gos
My friend and I were in Las Vegas last week. Neither one of us had ever played poker in a casino before. I had read about The Plaza sit-n-gos on this web site and since we were staying next door at Main Street Station it seemed like the perfect time to give casino poker a try.
Even though my friend was cool and confident I was very nervous about playing. I guess maybe a little nervous about disrupting ther game. However the moment we stepped up to the desk to sign up we were made to feel very welcome.
When we actually started to play the game I couldn't beleive how friendly and knowledgable the dealer was. If there ever was any hesitation on my part he was right there to give me the options and sometimes even the amount I had to put in to stay in the hand. He did this in a very friendly manor as not to make me feel like an idiot. I made sure to get his name so I could put in this report. His name was Brian and he seemed like he had been my friend for ten years.
Now once we played the game it was a whole different story. Now I don't know if was our inexperience or nervousness but my friend was the first one knocked out and I was the second one knocked out. We were thanked for playing by Brian and left the table. We left the table both shaking our heads. We couldn't beleive that we were the first two knocked out. We couldn't leave that way so we signed up again to give it one more try. This time we had a different dealer by the name of Jack. Jack was just as knowledgeable and just as friendly as Brian was. To make a long story short my friend and I ended up as two of the final three players. I had read on this site that it was possible to chop the pot when there was three players left and that is exactly what we did. So my friend and I took our $100 each of the $300 prize money and walked away feeling much better about our poker playing.
I guess what I want to say about this experience is that if there is anyone that is new to playing in a casino and is feeling a little nervous about trying it I would surely recommend trying out The Plaza for there sit-n-gos. They start out everyday at 10:am and go until 5:pm
