Poker week in Vegas
Me and a group of friends decided to take a one week trip out to Vegas to play poker and test our luck. We stayed at the Orleans Hotel and Casino which is about a half mile off the strip. The hotel was fairly cheap and had all of our needs. We weren't planning on playing much at our hotel but when we got down to the poker room at the Orleans we were surprized. For being off the strip the Orleans Casino was impressive. The poker dealers and pit crews were extremely helpful and the overal atmosphere was awesome. Since we had to walk out of our rooms and be at a quality card room we decided just to stay. I would highly recomend the Orleans to any poker player or Visitor to Vegas. On one of the last days in our trip we decided to enter a small no limit holdem tourney at Binions. I think it was $60 plus a $15 dollar add on or something like that. Over all the tourney was well run but the blind structures went up fairly fast making it more of a pick a hand and go type thing then a best player wins type. Over all I would say the trip was a success, +1275 myself -350 for hotel and air and how ever much I spent on food, which wasnt much because we recieved a lot of comps from the poker staff for our play. So in summary... Orleans Hotel = Good. Binions No Limit daily tourneys = Ok.
