Spent the week before Labor Day in Vegas with my friend Sup and the wives, Little L and Little H. We were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary.

We played a lot of poker in a number of places. I played several sessions at the Orleans where we stayed the first 3 nights. I always enjoy the room but I couldn't catch any hands.

On Tuesday, I went over the the Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo is a smaller room but is quite friendly. I was playing on the small blind and got the 3 and 4 of diamonds. THe flop showed the 5 and 6 of diamonds and the turn the 7 of diamonds. I won the hand and got a $500 bonus! The Monte Carlo has a bonus on any 4 of a kind, or straight or royal flush. The only rules are that you have to use both cards in your hand and the pot has to be at least $20. On my straight flush the pot didn't reach $20 until the river. After that I was getting great cards and won a number of pots and made $150. I came back the next night and was getting great cards again and won $175. I played the next day and couldn't catch a card and lost $100. The poker manager told me to sign up on line for room offers or call the poker room for a poker rate. They give you a $6 food comp for a couple of hours play but if you get the poker room rate you don't get the food comps.

On Wednesday, we moved to the Paris where the girls were playing in their first slot tournament. THey charged $149 to enter the slot tournament and that included 2 nights at the Paris. The girls both made money in the tournament. Little L made $50 and Little H made $100.

The Paris poker room was not open yet so we played a lot at Bally's. Bally's always had full tables and good pots but no comps.

We were told that the Paris poker room would open on Friday at 7 pm. So Sup and I were the first on the list on Friday to play. The room opened at 7 sharp and was all 3x6 with one no limit table. There seemed to be a lot of hotel guests playing since there was no advertising of the room. We also noticed that there were a number of dealers playing. The pots were all good. I lost $75 but all you needed was to win a couple of pots to get even. There was one young guy playing who went all in 3 times and won the 3 side pots. After that he won 3 hands in a row and was on fire. He cashed out with over $800 which is a lot for a 3x6 limit game.

I played again Saturday and Sunday at the Paris and made money both times. The poker manager said their tables were the tables used at the World Series of Poker. THey would be getting new tables in the next month or so. I asked about comps and he said there were none but they may start offering them in the future. I told him that if they don't give comps or use the players club card there is no way the casino can identify any players and you can't earn any hotel offers.

We also played Saturday night at the Wynn. THe Wynn offers you $1 an hour comps. THe table I played was quite aggressive and I was out $100 in the first hour. I then won 2 hands in a row and ended by making $100 for the night.

Over all I played over 35 hours on the trip and I can't wait to go back.
