My girlfriend and I decided to go to Vegas for the first time together. Neither one of us had ever been before. We stayed at the Excalibur simply because it was cheap, and it was well worth the value. We were either doing one of two things, sightseeing or poker.

The started at Excalibur, the room was a small boxed off area in the middle of the casino area, kinda of noisy but it didn't bother me much. We played 2/4 most of the time, watch out for the locals during the morning hours looking for bb jackpots, other then that worst players i've ever seen anywhere.

Next we played at Mandalay Bay. I thought that they had the nicest management in town when it came to comps and getting you a seat. The dealers were also very nice and sociable. The competition was pretty mediocre for the most part too, maybe one other skilled player at my table.

MGM was next on the to do list. It was a very ultra modern environment however the table was still very loose...all things considered it was a 2/4 table.

We wanted to play at Ceasars on their 3/6 game, but after waiting for a half hour and not having the list move at all we headed to Bellagio. At Bellagio we played 4/8. I think the players here were the best we had seen all trip. Probably 7 of the 10 we sat with knew what they were doing. Huge step up from excalibur competiton wise.

And i can't wait to go back...
