The good and the bad

My wife and I went with 3 other couples so I didn't get to play as much poker as usual. The first stop was supposed to be a SNG at the Aladdin except that they only have them on Sundays. My father-inlaw and I chose the 1 p.m. NL tournament. It was a really well ran tournament and the poker wasn't to bad until I switch tables. To succeed at these tournaments you have to be lucky. I mean lucky to have your cards hold up or lucky to suck out. I lasted about 2 1/4 hours and wasn't lucky got my JJ busted by 1010. Feeling lucky then have fun but don't expect alot of good poker.

The next stop was Imperial Palace. This room was dirty, dingy, poor lighting but a great place to play. I sat down at the NL $1-$2 cash game. The competition was weak but unlike other games they understood the basics of the game. they chased and made bad plays but if you made a strong bet they knew to fold or they would probably lose. I sat down with $50 I played for about 2 hours played maybe 12 hands and cashed out for $273. An example, I was dealt AK and called a raise to $15 there were 3 to the flop that came 8K3. The first player to act bets $30 next guy folds and I call. Next card was a 10 and he looks at my stack and says he's putting me all in for another 20, I say ok and he flips JJ and acts like he has the nuts. I flip my AK and start stacking my money. I enjoyed this game not because I won but because it wasn't an all-in fest like most games I leave.

The last stop was the Luxor. They have $50 max muy in on the $1-$2 cash games. Let me start by saying BEWARE play at your own risk. It was an all-in fest with atleast 3 people every time. I never seen the best hand hold up. The only time I went heads up I raised before the flop with AJ, flop cama 3A9 I bet and was called then 5 came and I pushed the last $20 in and was called. The guy said I don't have anythin but I call you and flipped 310 offsuit. I lost the hand when a 3 came on the river. He put $40 + in the pot with bottom pair. That is the type of poker they play there so again BEWARE play at your own risk.
