Arrived in Vegas at 8 PM 10/26. Checked in at Bally's, became situated, and proceeded to check out Bellagio. Saw Bobby's room but didn't recognize anybody. Proceeded to Sahara for the 11 PM tournament. Well run tournament with 79 players. Lasted until about 18th when I went in with the best hand after the flop. Local realtor player had pair of nines and had been pushing crap all night. I had ace 10 and with a flop of 10,7,5 all hearts went all in after his pushing raise. 10 clubs is the turn, heart on the river matching his 9 hearts, and history for the tournament. Well run tournament, would play again, reasonably priced and good tourney for low level tourney players. Blind changes in approximately 20-25 minutes.
Next stop at Wynn 9 AM satellite for their afternoon Thursday tourney. Proceeded to play like a moron from being too tired. Had Queens and didn't raise and let somebody limp in and outdraw me. Blinds move fast and you only get 100 chips with this satellite. 10 out of 10, el stinko in this tourney.
Ran up to Alladin for the 10 tourney. Very fast tourney with 15 min changes buy with one rebuy first hour. Didn't get a hand the whole time in this tourney. I know everybody likes the Alladin but Sahara was better run with screens to let you see time and better rebuy structure.
After tourney played at Bellagio, 8-16 ring game.
Been there before enough that I recognize some of the locals. Player named Jack has been in that game every time I have been there. Of course very tired and lost 300 quickly and quit for the day.
Saturday, watched football game and then headed for the Mirage. Another nice poker room (nothing beats Bellagio although I agree the cocktail waitresses at Wynn are playboy material). Played 6-12 had a good stack but drank 2 much before I played. At the end I live straddle end up with a full house and get beat by quads. Went to O that night and wasn't overly impressed. Thought Mystere was much better.
Forgot one, got up at six Saturday morning and played at Bellagio 8-16, won 300. Big hands include boat with 4s over 2s against AA, and flush. Another hand had A, 10 with 3 Aces on the board. Strawberry Julius is well worth it.
Sunday morning (I am an addict) won 300 playing 1-2 NL with a 200 max buy in. 3-4 locals with a bunch of drunks at Bally's. The locals are predators who try to get the drunks moneys. OK players but young people that think they are great. One of the drunks kept calling the most obnoxious one Hellmuth. This guy wanted a muck on a hand that obviously wasn't. Everybody knew it and A Brooklyn guy that lives in San Diego was working him over. Had AA and doubled up against 2 people going all in against me. Still only went to 500. Had a chance to get another hundred with 24 suited when i had a turn of a three and a straight made but bailed out on the inside straigtht draw.
