Was out with a buddy for a long weekend to play poker and eat some good food. We stayed the first night at The Wynn on the poker room rate. They wanted $549 regular and we got it for $199. Not bad. I had played at the Wynn before and I remember it being stocked with a bunch of locals. When we got there there, Saturday afternoon, were 5-6 $1-$3 games already going. We were #'s 8&9 on the list. When the waiting list got to 20 they opened another table. Since I was just getting started I started slow. The players at the table weren't very good but I could never get a foothold. After 2 hours I was up $50 and my buddy was even.

We then went to the pool. Wow, what a great pool. They even have a "European bathing" section if you know what is. But no topless women only horny old guys, like us, waiting for them to show up.

After dinner we were off to Ceaser's for the 7:00 $120 tournament. You get 1500 in chips and within the first two rounds, which are 40 minutes, you can re-buy (that's what they called it, but it seemed like an add-on to me) 3000 chips for $100, most everyone did it. My buddy busted out after the first break and went back to the hotel room. We had been up since about 5am eastern time which is 2am Vegas time. I however continued to accumulate chips and made it to the final table. I was getting really lucky. I was in 5-6 races and won every one. The final table was crazy. In less than 10 hands we had aces cracked twice, Kings cracked once and a guy going out with quads. This was good for me because I am sure I was the least talented player at the table. It finally got down to 3 of us. I had 100,000 in chips, one guy had 110,000 and the other guy had 30,000. We agreed to split. The floor guy came up with a split that we all agreed upon. It was 12:30 and I had now been up for 24 hours. I'm 42 years old, I haven't done that for a long time. After tipping the dealers $150 I walked out with $2465 in my pocket minus my $220 buy in. Not a bad way to get the weekend started.

The next day we played some $4-$8 limit, at the Wynn, to get the rest of our time in. I was up and down and ended up $4, my buddy was down about $50. So we pretty much broke even at the Wynn.

The next morning I was up early so I went over to the Paris to get into their 5:30 am poker tournament. There was nobody in the poker room and the manager said that the tournaments almost never make until the 9:30. So I stuck around and played blackjack and some craps until 8:00 and went and had breakfast and came back for the 9:30 tournament.

I sat down at one of five tables and we got started. About the 2nd or 3rd hand, the guy to my right raised it to 50 pre-flop, me and the next two players folded, the next lady said, "make it 55". The dealer asked her if she wanted to raise it 55 and she told him no just 5. He told her you had to at least re-raise the raise amount and she started to argue. There were three of us at the table that told her he was right. She said she had never heard that before and 3 other players at the table said that they had never heard that either. Me and those two players that took the dealers side, looked at each other with cheshire cat grins. Those two guys got busted out in the first hour and right before the end of the hour I flopped two pair. I deceided to go ahead and bet instead of slow play. The 5 dollar raise lady came over the top of me and I went all in. She turned over 78h. There was one card to her straight and one to her flush. She needed runner runner to beat me. The turn gave her a heart and one of her straight cards. You guessed it she caught the flush on the river. And to make it worse, won of the other idiots at the table told her, "nice hand".

Overall after paying for everything and losing some in the casinos, I still went home with $1,000 profit.
