Got in from Salt Lake City at 9:20pm. Took a taxi to the Sahara for the 11pm Tournament. I used to live in Las Vegas and know the Sahara is Old School. Not much has changed here. 63 players in the tournament. First hour, I pick up KJs. Flop comes Qs10s3c. Player goes All-in. Too many outs. I go AI. He turns over Q10o for 2 pair. Turns comes As. Royal Flush baby! My first in a live game and I double up. Unfortunately no Bonus here. There is a Rebuy the first hour and everyone fills up.These must be the dirtiest chips I have ever played with. I look down on the floor and see a Black $500 chip. No wonder they are so dirty.(I'll take the bonus here.) Get short stacked and push AKs. A guy who looks like Max Pascatore (the Italian Pirate) calls with QJs. Flop A Q 5 and he rivers a J. Oh well. I hit 4 Aces on a poker machine for $500 before leaving. Thanks Sahara.
Next night over to the MGM for the 6pm Tournament. $100 +25. 30 minute blinds. What a great looking Poker room. First hour flop trips and check it. Player bets the turn big and I go All-in. He calls with 2 pair and I double up. Next hour another player does the same thing to me and I am short stacked. 30 min. blinds allow patience and double double double to the final table. Top 5 pays. Wait and wait. Finally push behind 2 limpers with A5s. Unfortunately one had limped with AQ. Ouch. Nice play. I'm out 9th. Thanks MGM.I'll be back.
Checked out the Palms. Do not bother. Crappiest Poker rooms I have ever seen. Checked out Caesars. Great looking room. Wynn also outstanding. Long wait there.
