Two Weeks In Vegas
As its a 10 hour flight from England I decided to stay for 14 days at the Luxor hotel. Two weeks in Vegas is to long. I played at the Luxor most of the time as that was where I was staying al though I did walk through to the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur and played a little there as well. I purchased $1000 from the ATM on my arrival and after playing everyday for 2 weeks I left Vegas with $700 so after paying for a couple of shows and eating well everyday it actually turned out to be the cheapest holiday ive ever had. I guess over the time I was there I ended up winning about $700.
Played mainly $2/$4 limit and my best session was when I won just over $300. The play in the $1/$2 no limit game was absolutley crazy. Profitable if you had the patience to wait for the big hands. Although in my opinion only being allowed to sit down with a maximium of $50 put you at a serious disadvantage when there are players at the table with large stacks of chips. It is the lowest buy in for no limit in Vegas but I think you would have more chance of playing in the rooms that allow a $200 maximum buy in. At least you would start with a serious amount of chips so its unlikely you would be pushed around.
The comps at the Luxor are probably the best in Vegas. Play a total of 15 hours from Tuesday through to Tuesday and as long as you are playing between 4.00 pm and 8.00 pm on a Tuesday you qualify for a share of $3200. When I was there 40 of us got $80 each. On Mondays they have a high hand jackpot where ther are 4 prizes 1st prize is $500 2nd is $300 3rd is $200 and 4th is $100. The two Mondays I was there the same woman won the first prize both weeks.
They also play sit and go's which basically is a crapshoot. It cost $62 dollars to play and you only get $300.
Will be back sometime in the new year which I am looking forward to.
