Started out playing 2/5 NL at MGM. I think a lot has been said about this place, and it will remain my favorite. Either love or hate the marble race track, and I love it. The dealers were great and players were friendly.
I was walking into the Monte Carlo to grab the tram to Bellagio when I saw they had a poker room. When in Rome... I may be chased from vegas for saying this, but I loved the Monte Carlo. The hosts and dealers were beyond friendly. Very competent and just a pleasant place to play. If you hit quads or better you get a high hand jackpot as long as you are playing a limit game. The rake is lower, so they take up to a buck for the HHJ. No limit games rake higher with no HHJ. The pot must contain 20 bucks for it to hit. if you are short with a 3000 royal flush in your hand, as one lady was, just start to hum. the locals understand and build the pot for ya. They also had a tournament to qualify for the Bellagio $1000 buy in. Only 100 bucks so they pay cash too. I won it, so even more reason to like this place. The ambiance is nice too. Very classic with 1920s style paintings of old style poker games.
My final stop was Paris. They only had a 3/6 so I sat in it. They dont have their own tables yet, so the 12 or so are actual WSOP tables. Very cool to see and play on them. Only one table was going and it was super soft. I raked up over 4 racks, so that was nice. The dealers are new and sometimes ask questions to the poker manager. Some are even from Ballys. Still a great experiience. Also, if you sit in the front row of tables and sit in the 1,2,8,or 9 seat you can see the Bellagio water fountain shows. I think the room picks up at night, as I was there at noon on a wednesday.
