Forget fly for free...it's fly to play! I have been playing Vegas monthly for 6+ months, here is the latest.

MGM - favorite 1/2NL cash games, mix of people, great room, great dealers, nice staff. Met some friends at the 11am tourney, structure is fast not enough chips, I was able to dominate the table but then lost it with the table change. One of my best girl friends won it, 1900.! Cash games are decent, play ranges, mostly aggressie players, drunks at night, its hard to leave.

Venetian - favorite room, good dealers, friendly staff. Waitresses are large everywhere. I have met the friendlest locals here, tourist are kind of stuffy though. 12pm weekday tourney is affordable and great! I have cashed twice, 3rd place and chopped for 1st place. 1/2NL cash game is full of money to be had. Vanilla smell is intoxicating but well worth it.

Paris - Poker room has moved! It's still next to a smoky bar and right next to the sportbook area. No cell phones, PERIOD! Tourney's are every 2 hours, I cashed in 3rd place during the week. Weekend structure changed to 15min blinds, it was an all in fest at the end, I dominted early and once again lost it after the table change. Cash games are a mix, agressive want-a- be's and friendly. Staff is nice, hardly saw a waitress but the bartender comped me a drink and kissed my hand. It is super noisy here. Don't miss the crepe shop, it's awesome!

Decided to check out the the lower buy in tourneys, Rio and Sahara $40.00 each.

Rio has a nice room though hard to get to the hotel, its not on the strip. Dealers were bad which was very surprising considering they are all wearing wsop dealer shirts. Lots of locals. Card dead the whole tourney, can't bluff much at this level its like playing limit. Take a shuttle to and from the hotel to the partner hotels on the strip, every 15min. Nice WSOP shop upstaris.

Sahara - dingy room and hotel, nice staff, dealers are okay most are friendly, tons and tons of locals, like the whole table and me, had to listen to a whole lot of crap, wish I had my IPOD. Busted out early, thank god! Limit games only, boring.

TI - small room, nice dealers and staff, it is a very transet area, can't relax there at all.

Harrah's - tried to play a couple of tourney's but they are always changing the times, it was dead the last few times I checked it out. Definately check out the outside bar, lots of entertainment and drinks are strong.

Mirage feels like home with very old people. 1/2 NL is a big melting pot of all ages, all levels, gotta hit it right on certain nights. The SNG are always full. Limit is brutal here, loads of river rats, I only play it if I am waiting for a NL game. 4 hour's of play equals $15.00 voucher, buy a pizza at Cali Pizza and share with the table, free food!

I love Vegas! Make your money at cash games at MGM and Mirgae. Eat at Paris, the food is awesome anywhere in the hotel. Best Bloody Mary's, Mami Gombi! Venetian is my favorite toruney structure and room, its alot like the Borgata in AC! Very relaxing.

Back on the east coast. Taking off for a few months, see you in the summer! Fly safe!

  1. People only bother you because your hot, it goes with the territory I am sure.

  2. Just in Vegas this past weekend for first time.

Played at limit tables at MGM Grand. Agree with your post. Loved it. Very hard to leave. Major drunks in the wee hours of the morning.

Just an update on Mirage. The Poker Room comp they give for Food has apparently changed. The comp says "Complimentary Buffet or $15". When I used at Buffet, which was excellent, they first started to just take $15 off full price but then the girl asked another woman and she said now the Buffett is free. Either they screwed it up or they just made a change very recently.
