July 28 07 The poker room was well ran. Now it is not the most plush room in vegas, but the tv's and monitor set up is nice. The room is "glassed off" from the rest of the casino, which is good if you are a non smoker. The low ceilings in Harrahs I think must contribute to the smokier than normal casino. Wait time was from none, to very short even when busy. I don't usually drink much when playing, but the couple of cocktails that I did have were very good. Older but friendly waitress. Standard comp rate with player's card. I am pretty sure all of the Harrah's properties give the $1 per hr rate with players card. Just be sure and present it when u come in. When table got a little short handed ( for just a few minutes) the floor even agreed to cut the rake in half until the table filled again! Never seen that before ! Had to ask !
Hotel room was a great value. It was much nicer than I expected. We stayed on the 7th floor which is all non smoking in MG tower. Room & bed was very comfortable. The AC was not a real problem. You can set the temp at whatever you like, so if the unit's motion detector turned it off we just set it a little lower than normal when we were sleeping etc. Overall had great trip. 2/5 competition was across the board from very good to at least one big fish at every table. Just be patient and fillet that big fish :) Bought in for $300 left with $800 in 2hr
