The Northern California area comprises busy poker hotspots such as Clear Lake, Redding, Chico & Yuba City, and Eureka. The area is pulsing with more than 20 active poker rooms and is known regionally for its tournament poker, partly due to the monthly $5,000-guaranteed tournament hosted by Feather Falls Casino. Even bigger guarantees are scheduled at Win-River Casino in Redding, which hosts the annual $40,000-guaranteed Rivers Classic. WSOP main-event satellites are also available at Cache Creek casino from May to June every year. Online poker is still not regulated within the area, but you can readily find a juicy game at a live poker room. On any night of the week, you can easily find a $20 or $200 tourney, as well as many buy-ins in between.
