Nice But Small

This is a nice little room just off the main casino. You can buy your chips right at the reception area. They ran a $60 MTT, which had about 20 players, surprisingly without the usual number of multiple re-entry/re-buys for this low price point. With only 2 payouts, it effectively ran like a slow SNG. A lot of players at the table knew one another and were very cordial.

Based on the table talk, it sounds like the weekend tournaments may bring larger crowds. They talk about 80 entrants as a large turnout.

Only two cash games were running in the few hours I was there - both were $1/2 NLHE. Both tables stayed full ring and were fairly quiet.

The dealers were competent and amiable, which was nice.

Drink service was sporadic but the servers were very nice. While you can use your Total Rewards card to buy food in the restaurants in the casino, apparently you cannot use your comps to buy drinks (I tried with the server and again at the stand alone bar). That was a disappointment and is unlike other Caesar's properties I've been to. Not sure if you can order food to have delivered to the table as I'd eaten at a nice Vietnamese restaurant in there before I sat down to play.

Unfortunately, this is a smoking casino. Although smoking is not permitted in the Poker Room. because it opens to the casino floor, there is no way to avoid it. Also, a lot of the players step just outside the room to have a quick smoke.

All in all, it was a nice place to visit and relax with a cheap buy-in tourney, but the Hollywood in KS provided more action on the cash tables.
