I decided to try the Friday night $40 NLHE tournament. 15k starting stack 20 minute blinds the first 3 levels, 15 thereafter starting at 100/100.
I'm not the kind of person to bash a room. I'll be as gentle as possible.
Problem: We had a card in one of our decks that didn't belong there. It was a card that belonged to another deck.
Solution: Set the cards up in order by suit as all casino's do before a tournament, laying them out on the table as players sit down.
Problem: After the renegade card was discovered, a count of the cards also revealed there were missing cards.
Solution: Again, set the cards up in order by suit as all casino's do before a tournament, laying them out on the table as players sit down.
Problem: We started with 1 table, as others showed up, we were told to draw a card. Red cards move to the other table. After being moved to that table, we were told to "sit wherever".
Solution: Learn how to move players in position as other casino's do.
Problem: (Not in the hand) The dealer wasn't paying attention and cleaned up the cards as if the hand were over when in fact it wasn't. The ruling was to split the pot up and move on.
Solution: 100% of your attention should be on your table and not at another table so these kind of mistakes don't happen.
Two positives: The cash cage ladies were on point and quickly and efficiently took the cash and handed out the proper amount of tournament chips. I had a burger with tater tots and chips from the bar. It was a very good burger.
Final thoughts: Fix the problem and make it a room worthy of another visit.
