While staying at The Monte Carlo, i played in the 9.00am Poker tournament almost every morning and at Casaers Palace once, but looked at almost all the other rooms.
The Monte Carlo was small, but very friendly with an excellent cross section of players, from inexperienced, to clearly better players, locals and tourists. I consider myself a decent player and found some easy to play against, with patience and a couple in particular i learnt from.
Casaers Palace was a fantastic room, very airey, warm feeling, comfortable and exhilarating to play in. (I will definately play there more next time) The standard at Casaers was probably not quite as good, but still enjoyable and the dealers were excellent.
Other room i visited and will definately play in next time will be, MGM, which is also large and gave a good feel, The Rio, just because its the home of the World Series of Poker and it gave a good feel and the Hotel in general was better than i expected, it being OFF Strip !! Also the same goes for Binnions, again because of the history, but generally Freemont Strret, was disapointing.
Others i did not like or get a good feel from were, Luzor, small less appealing and somewhat run down. The Bellagio and the Wynn, because they seemed to be full of people with loads of money and plenty of attitude !! (First of all i play to enjoy myself) But there could could be easily obtained, i think ??
Finally i played 6 tournaments and in all lost about $60, so a good weeks entertainment and i'm a better player for it. So roll on next tiem !!!
