Thursday:

I arrive in Vegas from Richmond via Minneapolis. This trip was really finalized on Tuesday and was a last minute idea. I originally was to be staying at Caesar’s with a friend who had a comped room but that fell through. There will be a funny tidbit about said friend later on.

I check in and grab a beer from one of the video poker bars. I find the IP room is dark so I head to Harrah's and they have no tables but a tourney is going. Head to mirage but they have a 5 deep waiting list for 1/2. On to Venetian I go. I play 1/2 for a while but slowly bleed down a 100 chips while being card dead and such. I play the nightly tourney and get crushed. I recall losing a coin flip to get eliminated, twice. That will be a common theme! Nothing I really did wrong that I recall. I end the night drinking around the Carnival Court/IP/O'shea's.

Friday: I have a date with the Aria. I am up around 9 am and I head to the Aria around 11 after eating the Chorizo Hash at the Hash House. I decide to play 2/5 when a new table starts. I keep getting my CBETs check raised whenever I miss the flop and I was missing every flop as usual so I was down around 150 so I reloaded back to 500. The following hand happens that I can't get away from. I am in BB and pick up QQ. A couple limpers and the button raises to 15. I repop to 50 and button calls. Flop is 10 8 2 a rainbow. I lead out 100 and button calls. The Turn is 3 that sets up a flush draw. I lead out another 100 and button shoves for like 100 more. I call expecting to see a set of 3's or something like that. Instead I see 83o and the river brings another 3 to put salt in my wounds. Thanks poker gods!

The 1 pm starts so I decide to buy in. I last about 1/2 hour after I get called down to the river QQ

  1. Mods: You can delete one of these. They are similar. I didn't think one of them went through. It is amazing how my recollections change overnight.
