I came to Vegas for the intention om playing poker full time for three months. I wanted to start out playing some 1/2nl and move up to 2/5nl after a couple of weeks. I spent almost four months here last year and did very well. Here is a review of the crazy pineapple tourney and some bad beats.

Since nobody has submitted a review of the tourney here it is.

Crazy pineapple tourney at Mandalay Bay on Sunday is at 11am and a $50 buy in with a max of 30 people. I think this was only the third week of them starting this tourney. It was a disappointment to say the least. Only 13 people signed up for it and two people at my table thought they were playing a regular holdem tourney until it started. I didn't like the payout structure as they were paying out the top 4 out of 13 people. I lasted until the second level when this hand came up. Blinds 15-30 I have As 8s 8c flop comes 6s 7s Jd. SB bets out 100 BB flat calls MP raises it to 300 i decided to make a move and go all in for my remaning 400 chips SB and BB go all in and so does MP raiser. I discarded the 8c and everyone turns over their hands. SB shows J7 for two pair, BB shows 5s 9s where he was drawing to one out now, MP shows 66 for a set of sixes. Turn comes 8d and river comes and 8h. If would have kept the other 8 and discarded the ace I would have had quads. Mp has us all covered and 3 of us bust out at once and they merge to the final table.

Instead of writing a report on every room ive played in, i'll instead right a room review for each individual room.

I'll share a few of the worst bad beats i have been taking over the last two weeks. I feel like I'm on a never ending cold streak and don't know what to do about it.

I lose AA vs AA all in preflop when the board shows 4spades and the villian has the ace of spades.

I lose twice top set over bottom set when both times we ge all our chips in the middle on the flop. First time villian hits his 1 outer to quads and second time villian gets runner runner for a straight.

I have pocket jacks flop comes KcJhKh. Three people in this hand and im first to act. Originally raiser bets out LP smooth calls and so do I. Turn comes the 9h for a possible flush and straight flush, something I didnt even think of at the time. Original raiser makes a small bet and LP re raises i go all in and OR folds and LP calls. LP shows Q 10 hearts for the straight flush.

I have AJ and call a raise against a wild manic in position. Flop comes rainbow AJx and we get all our money in on the flop Turn comes a 10 river comes a 10 and manic shows A10 for runner runner full house.

Three way action on this hand. BB raises it to $10 I call on the button with AJ spades and so does the SB. Flop comes 2x 5s 7s SB bets out $10 BB raises it to $20 and i decide to bump it up to $60 SB folds and BB thinks about it and calls. I had a real good read on the BB who was a calling station. Tuen comes Ac i push the rest of my chips i think $95 left and BB calls river comes 9d and BB shows pockets 9s for his two outer on the river.

    Not a bad beat.

    I think I sense a pattern.

Uhh, not to be nit picky but if the villian had a set on the flop, then he couldn't have made a str8 without it being on the board. Then it would have been a chop. Tough to remember all the details from memory though.

  4. flatline, I agree with some but if you flop set over set, all the money goes in and the other guy hits a one-outer or runner-runner, how is that NOT a bad beat?

I guess I read that wrong and just saw set over set. That is pretty bad!
